Students should access their teachers’ announcements and/or assignments through Google Classroom. Students can access their GoogleClassroom by logging into the CCPS Portal at https://my.clayton.k12.ga.us or clicking on this link.

Internet Access - Comcast Essentials

Families without Internet access can now have Comcast Essentials FREE for up to 60 days. Additionally, Comcast is increasing Internet speed for existing customers. Please see the brief facts below and click HERE (https://corporate.comcast.com/press/releases/internet-essentials-low-income-broadband-coronavirus-pandemic) for more information. All inquiries regarding Comcast Internet should be directed to Comcast. To receive increased Internet speeds, existing customers will not need to do anything. New speeds will be rolled out nationally over the next few days All NEW customers will receive a free self-install kit that includes a cable modem with a Wi-Fi router. There will be no term contract or credit check and no shipping fee Interested parties can simply visit www.internetessentials.com to receive information or sign up for Internet Essentials. The website includes options to video chat with customer service agents in American Sign Language. There are also two dedicated phone numbers 1-855-846-8376 for English and 1-855-765-6995 for Spanish

‚ÄčAudible is giving students free access to all their books by using this link. You can check out the selection here. You can stream the audio on desktops, laptops, phone and tablets. The Audible app is available to download for iOS here.

Destiny Discover

Students can login at my.clayton.k12.ga.us and click Destiny to open the school media center catalog. Reading materials available may include: eBooks, interactive books, and encyclopedia articles.

MyOn

Students can login at my.clayton.k12.ga.us and click Clever to login and read digital books in MyOn. When a student is done reading, a student can show understanding by taking a quiz in MyOn or, if the school has access, in Accelerated Reader.

Open eBooks

Open eBooks provides free access to thousands of ebooks which can be read using an App available for Apple iOS or Android devices. Ask for an access code by e-mailing your child’s name, grade level, and school name to claytonreads@clayton.k12.ga.us

Renaissance Accelerated Reader (available at home only if schools are closed)

Accelerated Reader quizzes allow a student to show understanding of a book he or she has read. Parents and students are encouraged to follow these best practices when a student reads and takes an Accelerated Reader quiz:

·         Select a book of interest to read.

·         Read a few pages to be sure you can successfully read the book.

·         Finish reading the entire book.

·         Take the Accelerated Reader quiz within one day of finishing a book.

·         Go to tinyurl.com/claytonar to login to Accelerated Reader. The username is the student ID number without the first zero. Each student should know his or her password.

·         Do not use the book during the quiz.

Tumblebook Library

The Clayton County Public Library provides access to TumbleBook Library, a collection of hundreds of ebooks including animated picture books, read-along chapter books, videos, and more. Go to claytonpl.org/kids to begin reading.

E-Read Kids

The Clayton County Public Library provides access to E-Read Kids, a collection of thousands of ebooks and audio titles. A library card number is required to access the collection. Go to claytonpl.org/kids to begin reading.

Galileo: Georgia’s Virtual Library

In the My CCPS Portal, click the Galileo link to access Galileo: Georgia’s Virtual Library. If you are prompted for a password, the current password is aboard . When searching Galileo’s many resources, be sure to use the filters found on the left side of the results page to narrow your search: check the Full Text box to ensure your results include only complete articles; change the Publication Date to a range such as 2018 to 2020 to ensure the articles shown are recent. Two of the main sources found include: Periodical = a magazine article aimed at the general public often written by a professional writer; Academic Journal = a scholarly article aimed at specialists, academics, and researchers often written by an expert on the subject.

GOSA Link for Clayton County

School starts at 7:45 a.m. Students arriving for breakfast must arrive between 7:15 a.m. – 7:35 a.m. Please plan accordingly to have your child seated and ready to learn promptly at 7:45. Our goal is to decrease tardies and increase learning time for all students. 

Uniforms

Students are expected to wear uniforms daily unless Mrs. Starks says otherwise. School uniforms consist of the following:Tops (Polo): White, Navy Blue, Baby Blue, Bottoms: Khaki, Black, Navy.
